BHMNS has collaborated with Bombay Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd. to disburse scholarship to minority section female students for study. At present the process works in Online and Offline mode for registration in automated and manual mode for processing scholarships & transfer to selected eligible candidates. Now under Digital India initiative, MAEF has upgraded scholarship registration process to online mode only and also back office processes to perform automated operations possible without impacting current work load. MAEF also intends to add-on pre-authorization request for student scholarship second installment to the current system.

The ministry has announce the application of Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship Previously the same was known as Maulana Azad National Scholarship. The scheme is for girl child beloging to minority community studying in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th standard, who have scored 50% and above and whose family annual income is not more that 2.00 Lacs p.a (Basic eligibility).

The amount of scholarship for 9th and 10th standard will be Rs.5000/-. For 11th and 12th standard the amount will be Rs.6000/- and will be credited in their respective Bank Account.

Till date Bombay Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd. has credited `18,67,68,000 in 31,128 female student’s account.
